Retaining Walls

Proper layout is critical to the appearance and performance of a timber retaining wall. Before pile installation begins, ATS reviews the provided wall alignment and site conditions and lays out the wall for construction. Our experienced Bridgeineers™ construct straight, curved, and transitioning wall configurations in accordance with project requirements.

ATS constructs retaining walls using pressure-treated structural timber and proven heavy-timber construction methods. Driven timber piles, horizontal wall members, structural connections, and anchoring systems are incorporated as required by the wall design and site conditions.

Structural connections are selected for the intended application and exposure conditions. ATS utilizes heavy-duty fasteners, through-bolts, rods, and other connection hardware as required to provide dependable structural performance and long-term outdoor service.

Timber retaining walls can be designed for varying heights, soil conditions, loading requirements, water elevations, and site configurations. ATS can coordinate engineering when required and provide practical retaining wall solutions based on the specific conditions of each project.
